About Me

Hi my name is Chnice and I am  a student at the University of Minnesota Duluth studying to be a health educator.  I choose this field to study  because I enjoy helping people and truly believe that I can help make a difference in people lives.  I started out engaging in health related jobs such as working in the pharmaceuticals sector for a few years and then transitioning to learning the general scope of the health industry, on a smaller scale. This is how I discovered that my passion was helping others. From there, I explored my options and narrowed it down to education as being my vehicle to advocate for health among people.  During these experiences, I come to understand that many people are uninformed about the various health issues they may be at risk for. To help people get the necessary information they need throughout the community, I often carry out presentations on various health topics (mainly related to cancer) because cancer is the second common disease to acquire in the United States at this time. I am currently in my senior year as an undergrad, but my plans after graduation is to attend grad school in public health so that I can further expand my knowledge in this sector as well as offer opportunities to help others.
